The 2012 Black Special Edition was a Z750R with a black colour theme, a two-tone fuel tank with gold pinstriping, and the same chassis upgrades as the Z750R: a pressed aluminium swingarm, a multi-piece front cowl, 41 mm inverted forks, a piggyback-reservoir rear shock and radial 4-piston front calipers on 300 mm discs. Engine and gearing were the same as the standard Z750R apart from the listed gear ratios.
